MC3 Design is me, Ian Butler - Freelance designer.

I don’t design because it’s my job. Or because I’m good at it. Or even because I’m passionate about it. (Although all of those things are true!)

I design because I can’t stop. I simply can’t help myself. When I look at a website, a logo or a presentation, I see, not what it is, but what it could be. How it could do more for the business it’s promoting, how a different concept might be more effective, or a different headline.

Fortunately, I’ve been able to put my design and creative obsession to good use. After growing up and training in the UK, I emigrated to Australia in 1998. I was creative director at 2 below the line Sydney design agencies for a while, then started a successful digital agency (now called Pragmatica - part of the Ogilvy Group). I’ve since returned to my roots: pure design.

Over the years, I’ve worked on some pretty exciting stuff, for the likes of Coca Cola, LG, Nestlé, KFC, Pizza Hut and Toyota. I’ve also worked with countless startups, so I know the importance of getting work done on time and to budget.

The work you did for Glenn Murray is beautiful. It really did take my breath away and I view 1000s of websites of every month. You’ve definitely got tremendous talent.
